Stunning artwork donated to the school

We were thrilled to receive these beautiful art pieces by Rabbi who is the very talented parent of Kgosi and Crystal. It is fantastic to add to the artwork in our corridors with imagery that represents Africa for all the children to see, and for Kgosi and Crystal to see their father’s artwork hung proudly in their school. Thank you Rabbi.

Handwriting Winners

In January all our students practiced the next writing genre of the year which is narrative writing. To date our students have established writing styles for recount writing and persuasive writing. Each term we celebrate our students by choosing 2 students per classroom who demonstrated care and consideration when writing in the given genre. In January we congratulated the following children for their achievement in this writing genre. Well done to all, and their handwriting is on display in the entrance to the school for any visitors to observe.

Recount Writing Winners Oct 2023

Since September our students have been busy working on their recount writing as part of our English Literacy whole school plan to focus upon a specific writing genre every 6 weeks. This week at assembly the below students were awarded their certificates, and winners were decided by each class teacher. Comhghairdeas gach duine!

Our next writing genre will be persuasive writing where students will be presenting their arguments why they should be elected onto the student council for 2023-24. Our Junior/Senior infant students will assist the student council this year with colouring in posters and distributing any leaflets around the school. Students from 1st-6th class will be elected onto the Student Council by their peers in each classroom based on their own persuasive writing presentation. Good luck to those who wish to put themselves forward for election.
