Sam Watson who commented in the 2021 Olympics visited the school where he gave a very interesting talk to the children on what it was like to compete in the Olympics. He spoke of how the games of the Olympics are evolving and adapting to modern tastes, with many children offering what sport they’d be interested entering the Olympics with! Equestrian sports, swimming, soccer, GAA and gaming were are mentioned and we will be keen and eager to keep a look out for any of our students in the future competing in any of these sports!
Our sincere thanks to Sam once again for visiting our school, a visit our students are unlikely to forget soon!
All classes enjoyed many activities this week for Maths Week. Here are a sample of those events that took place.
Well done to our students across the school who created these beautiful art pieces for Halloween.
This week our students are enjoying some Mathematical activities in association with Maths Week. Here are some photos of what we’ve been enjoying this week so far. More photos will be added as the week progresses, so be sure to come back again!
Our students enjoyed a Maths Trail around the school, reading and discussing mathematical solutions to some math problems.

On Monday 22nd February we will host a whole school assembly and a zoom call invitation will be sent to parents only inviting you to join us. Our thanks to Rev’d Kevin who has agreed to lead us in prayer at our assembly. The theme of our assembly will be that of “Friendship”.
Our students have been busily enjoying creative festive scenes to decorate our PE Hall in recent days. All teachers have worked very hard to ensure some festive spirit could be enjoyed this year despite our obvious restrictions.
Here are some photos to show you how our days have been spent leading up to the Christmas break.
Activities included, festive cooking by some students, a charity walk for SVP, lots of artwork and of course the obligatory festive jumpers by many of our students!
Merry Christmas to everyone from the staff of St.Mary’s NS.
